Marxist view on society?

What was Marxists view on society?

I tried researching it but it was all too confusing as I'm new to studying sociology. If you could explain Marxists view on society in a few simple sentences it'll be very much appreciated. Soz if this sounds like a stupid question

Marxists have a conflict view of society, meaning there is a conflict of values in society and unlike functionalists they don't believe in a value consensus, marxists see capitalism as the biggest oppressor of the people, as it works in favour of the ruling elite class- helping them get richer whilst exploiting the working class with their labour
