It's that time of year again!

I'm going into my second year of uni now. After a lot of stress about accommodation and modules/potential course changes I think it's finally all sorted out, and I suppose that means I can start looking forward to it a bit.

I have various different conditions that affect my study and life in general, including CFS, dysautonomia and ASD as well as depression and anxiety. These mean that my uni life is quite different to the average one, which you'll see a lot in this blog. Things that are tiny to most people can be huge for me! You can find my previous blog here.

Last year I somehow came out with a first, which I would absolutely love to get again! If not then hopefully it'll be a 2:1- if I manage to complete the year that is. My other goals are to look after myself a bit more (which includes stopping if I need to) and to be more social. I'll aim to post in here about once a week again, hopefully a little more consistently than last year.

Going to tag the people from my last blog as a one time thing. Let me know if you want to be on the list again, and of course new people welcome! Any comments about what you want to see more/less of appreciated- I never really know what to put in here so just ramble on a little bit!

Congrats on the 1st! I'm trying to achieve one myself but my average isn't looking too good at the moment :/ How do you manage to study hard and still manage to eat healthy and exercise etc? I always start off doing both but end up eating ready meals because I'm EXHAUSTED after a day at uni

You can do it! Even if you don't, a 2:1 or pretty much any grade is still a huge achievement- just finishing is tbh. And thats a hard one. Exercise I can't really do because of health stuff, I can barely even stand up some days, but food I make sure I have healthy stuff I can pick at. So a box of grapes on my desk or dried fruit, apples and satsumas in my room and whatever else. Even if you have a microwave meal, chop up a carrot while it's cooking and have that too- broccoli and things work as well in the microwave as they do boiling if you get the timing right. I bring quite a few meals from home for when I'm really unwell and if I have a spare evening when I'm feeling okay I will try and cook something that'll do me for a couple of days and then be frozen.

Basically just do what you can when you can, and try and factor them into your schedule. It might be hard at the time but it's so much better iin the long run! And sorry for the long reply

That would've been a good one to answer I suppose but psychology mostly

Update 1- Pre-uni chaos

Sorry this is a bit late, I was a big exhausted ball of stress last night and definitely couldn't write coherently. Start as we do not mean to go on.

The result of that and various other things is that I've just formally asked to change course, and drop my second subject. It just wasn't going to happen, I was going to spend my whole year running round like a headless chicken doing a bunch of stuff I didn't even want to be doing. It's sad having to drop it but hopefully it'll work out much better in the long run, both career-wise and for how much I enjoy it.

The rest of this week has been taken up with resting, packing and coming back to uni. My new accommodation is nice, if not quite where I want to be! I've not met most of my flatmates yet but the two I have seem nice, and one of their friends. At least two of the three others are around I've just not actually met them yet. I don't know if the third person is or not.

I did manage to go to a social last night. It was busy and loud and I really didn't feel like it but I went, sat with a random bunch of people and spent an hour there. This is massive for me I also had my first committee meeting and promised to help out for a little bit today and tomorrow at freshers stuff.

So yeah, that's it really! This week's goals are:
- Meet the rest of my flatmates
- Finalise course stuff and what modules I'm taking
- Do the prep work for these modules (which I may or may not have been meaning to do all summer)
- Maybe try go to another social and/or new society meeting

Hope everyone's had a good week! I'm not sure who actually wants tagging or not except sinfonietta so let me know if you do, I don't want to bother/spam people if you don't want it. Let me know of anything you want including in here too, I'm stuck for ideas!

I def want tagging please?

Proud of you for the social stuff. And for the course stuff too - it's hard to drop a subject you (presumably?) love and a big decision to make, but I think it could prove to be beneficial in the end :yep:
