Doing a procedural landmass generation project in Unity for coursework. To what extent should I take advantage of Unity's inbuilt API's and methods? I'm currently using the Unity Perlin noise API. Should I write my own to get more marks? Or find someway to incorporate databases into my project (I have a little experience using databases)? Any ideas?
