So they start tomorrow, right? Do they send us a link via e-mail or do we just go on the uni website or something...? I'm confused.

I'm guessing you just go on the website and click accomodation and then click apply online.

Can you do this not online ... after you firm them will they send you a leaflet about alltheir accommodation like most unis do, or don't they bother with that?

I think Exeter has moved all their accommodation applications online this year.

Thanks guys
I've just done mine. Or at least, I think I've just done mine. I was able to save the application and it saved and then when I went to submit, it said 'It can not be submitted at this time'. but, on my main page it says application submitted. So, I guess it has been submitted.

I went for Holland, Penny C, Birks Grange in the end. For interests I put Drama, Night clubs, Sport and Fashion/shopping.

Well done  Wonder when you'll hear the result of the application? It's so long ago that I can't remember :frown:
I don't think we hear until after results. Which seems like ages away. At least now I can just concentrate on getting AAA. Which means gettng off here and doing some revision. I promised myself I wouldn't waste these holidays.

I think I will apply within 2 weeks. Hopefully won't put me at huge disadvantage compared to people who apply today / tomorrow.

It says that there is no advantage in applying today and that it's not first come first served.

My Mother said something about how at the open day the woman said that people who got offers before Christmas have a greater chance of getting their first choices. I don't know how true that is though. It was one of the earlier post offer days. The same woman seemed to slag off Holland a ridiculous amount as well.

In my experience people who apply earlier do tend to have a higher chance of getting what they want. They say it isn't first come first served but I think that's probably a lie - what sense does it make to save up a huuuuge pile of applications and make more work for themselves to have to do them all at once, rather than working through them as they come in?

I wouldn't have thought that those who have their offers before Christmas will have a better shot at their first choices though - accommodation applications open to everyone on the same day regardless of when they receive their offers.

She shouldn't have slagged off Holland Hall though. I'm not a fan of it myself but having done the open day tours, it's not your job to tell the prospective students what you think - it's mainly your job to just dispense information.

I really should read things through... Ive just realised I ticked 3 things for interests rather than 4 and have already submitted my application.
Does this matter, or affect my application?
Reply 14
No, it won't affect your application. They'll probably assume you don't like any of the other interests listed/don't have any other interests :p: It's really just to help them and give them a rough guide when choosing who to put you with.

So it sounds like they have a list of designated interests that you can choose from this year. How unimaginative is that! We just had a list where we could fill in 3 or 4 blanks I think...
They only had designated interests last year as well...

*gawps at the insanity of not allowing people to fill in their own interests*

What happens if you're a total freak in terms of your interests?! I'm guessing putting Other, Other and Other (assuming you even can) wouldn't exactly be helpful...
Reply 17
Yeah when I applied we got to write down interests. Weird. Is the list quite comprehensive?

I didn't write anything in the extra comments box, but I shouldn't be getting a twin as all of my choices are single ensuite I believe, so no surprises hopefully :s-smilie:!
