Maths a level question

The points A,B,C have coordinates (-3,2), (-1,-2) and (0,k) respectively, where k is constant.

Given that length AC=5BC, find the possible values of k

Use the following equation image-96bd531f-0da8-472d-a5b7-6be8a92ed9484107706666750060773-compressed.jpg.jpeg
to find the length AC in the terms of k and length BC.

Then rearrange to find k

thanks, is it like this?
k= squareroot. (-3+1)^2 + (2+2)^2

im not really sure

Not quite.

First you want to find the length AC
you want to use the point coordinates of A and C the way you have written it would find the length of AB

so you would have to root (3-0)^2 + (2-k)^2
