Just read about what the current issues are in pharmacology 20-30 articles and make a list of topics. news google, new scientist. Should be targeted at being relevant and interesting for your course.

maybe think about doing an artifact, maybe analysing how much iron is in variety of tablets and how it's changed over time/how accurate your experimental procedure was etc... should be able to get a fair bit of critical analysis in there

Is this suitable as an a level student ? I do really like the idea. An artifact must be included but what is that ? I do really like the question though but I’m not too sure what to do with it .

I don’t really understand how I would do this as I have only just started year 12. I’m not to sure what an articat is and how would I go about to answer that question because as I want to do medicine in uni I would really like to get A or A* in my EPQ

Yup talk to your teacher and head of chemistry or hemistry teacher about it.
You can do an artefact which could be like an experiment a book or build something.
You could create an analysis about the chemical compositions of different drugs - this is mostly mathematical chemistry but would be a good idea because you could self learn some medicine Inorganic and organic chemistry for your personal statement while you're at it

No - I just finished my A-Levels and did an EPQ in Y12, I did a dissertation but would've preffered to do an artefact like the one I've talked about.
Good luck be sure to talk to your teachers
