History and French Degree or Modern Foreign Languages (French and Mandarin)?

I'm currently choosing a degree course and can't choose between History and French or Modern Foreign Languages (studying French and Chinese)

I'm not currently decided on a career although I am considering:
- working for a charity
- primary teaching
- Civil Service
- potentially doing a law conversion

Which would be more useful? And which is a better respected degree?

I don't think any of your career options require a specific degree, so either should be fine.

What do you enjoy more?

History and French provides you with two different skills, but languages is only one, if that makes sense? So, if you do well in French and Mandarin it's like you have the skill of language learning, but if it's History and French it shows that you can do more than just languages.
