DofE
I’ve got my silver DofE this weekend starting on Friday, the weather looks like it’s going to be horribly wet and windy. It’s my silver qualifying one, all the previous camps, silver and bronze that I’ve done have been during really hot weekends 25°C plus. How different will it be this weekend and how should I prepare differently?
My silver DofE was on Dartmoor so I know the feeling of the first miserable hike. Enough spare clothes, don’t walk in wet / semi dry stuff each day. Waterproofs definitely, I found gaiters were amazing too (look them up), rucksack liner and cover. Also come with an amazing upbeat attitude, walking in the rain is miserable for the team and mentally. Feel free to PM me if you have anymore questions
