BA vs Bsc economics or economics & philosophy.

I'm thinking of applying to a economics and philosophy BA because I enjoy philosophy as well economics equally, I'm fairly competent at maths and could choose to do the Bcs for just economics if I want to. One of my main aims for going to university is so I can get work in something to do with economics or finance without too much struggle. I'm also curious as to if BA degrees are easier than Bsc's and if so by how much (I obviously wouldn't want to do a course that doesn't push me if I'm going to pay 9 grand a year).Depending on the university, is it a good idea to apply to two different courses? Should I do Bcs economics or BA economics and philosophy? Universities i'm thinking of applying to:
nottingham, manchester, sheffield, bristol, leeds, UEA
