Hi. Looking to do History at Durham (surprise surprise) and I'm not sure about the best college to go to. I want a relatively big college/ lots of undergrads to mix with, near the centre of town and my lectures preferably and good sports facilities - and a cheap pint wouldn't go down to badly. I like the idea of a traditional college but its not a high up my priorities as the others.

Can anyone give me any advice?

I've looked at Hilde on the Open Day and whilst I don't hate it - the hill is a downside if I'm looking for a night out, and I believe it's the furthest college from anywhere (?). Open Days aren't really an option as they're all booked up/already happened for september.

Thanks

Hi - sorry you haven't had a response to this yet. I'm just going to bump the thread in the hope that someone sees this and can help

Why do I do this?

The Universities forums get a lot of questions that are unanswered. This is often because the OP's thread got missed - bumping threads gives them another lease of life and frequently results in someone seeing it and being able to respond

If you would like to help with unanswered questions check out the first part of the list here and don't forget the second part of the list here.

Or if you have questions, get in touch with Puddles the Monkey.

All four of these criteria seem to fit Hatfield pretty well. It's a good size (big enough to know many people, but not big enough you feel overwhelmed), very close to town and close to your lectures (as you are thinking of History, the history lectures are barely five minutes across the bridge from Hatfield), and has the best sports facility on the Bailey.
