Is there a context for this? I dont think they do give you a formal predicted grade. Employers normally work off transcripts.
I might be wrong with your uni in which case ask in the department.

I have just finished my degree and was never given a predicted grade.

If you are meaning the predicted grades sometimes asked for by Fututre Employers / Grad Schemes / Industry Years, from my understanding you can set this prediction yourself, but be prepared to back this up with marks in previous units.

I was told that typically, predictions follow roughly these guidelines for a 3 year course, (unless you have had extenuating circumstances)

Completed 1st year: Final grade prediction one level above your current average
(eg; 62% average could predict a 2:1)
Completed 2nd year: Predict your current working grade if your average is between X0-X4%, or the grade above if X4-Y0%
(eg; 62% average could predict a 2:2, 68% can support a 1st)
Further on in degree: Predict your current working grade if your average is between X0-X7%, or the grade above if X7-Y0%
(this is very variable depending on what percentage of your degree you have left to sit)

If you are not sure, have extenuating circumstances or feel you are more likely to perform well in units you have yet to sit, it's probably best to have a chat with one of your senior tutors about this. They should be happy to help advise you
