Four charges of +5.0 nC, +8.0 nC, -2.0nC and -4.0nC are positioned in air at the corners ABCD of a square of side 10cm. Calculate (a) the electric field strength and b) the potential at the centre of the square.
For a) can I just sum the field strengths directing toward the centre? and then use use E = kq. As for b, I'm not sure how to calculate the potential at the centre

b) is easier. Potential is a scalar. Just add the individual potentials (V = q/4pieor)
In a ) E is a vector. You needto add the individuals Es vectorially takinginto account directions.
