black tights in summer!

Ok so here's my problem.

I'm a size 12/14.
I look fat in jeans and tops etc. cause i'm quite short and jeans are always too long and skinny jeans make my hips look giant. I have a biiiig belly so tops highlight it.

so i tend to wear dresses with black tights.
I think they are much more flattering.
But now summer is here what am I gonna do?
Black tights are a taboo during the summer!
My legs are hideous with tan and without!
what is the alternative?

I'm all about cute dresses and black tights- but i think natural tights are a must, for the summer.

I'm really scared of looking like an old lady when i wear them or my legs just being beige

I don't wear tights that often but from all I've seen people wearing, there are none that will suit my complexion so I can't wear flesh coloured tights.
So I'm stuck wearing trousers all summer.

I think I'll have to wear patterned tights so that they don't look really dark and totally opaque.

Where do peoplebuy their tights from?

I am the same when it comes to revealing my legs. Don't worry about wearing black tights. Nobody will bat an eyelid. We are in the UK remember, and it can be bloody cold, even in July. :p:

If you want to feel more summery try leggings, longer dresses or natural tights.

But they actually last alot longer than pairs I've paid £6 for one, from Topshop.

Try longer dresses or natural coloured tights. If its tights been a bit warm and uncomfortable, try holdups or stockings as they are less yukey to wear in warmer weather

What about different coloured tights? Not necessarily beige/tanned ones, but bright colours. However, I don't see any problem with black tights in summer. :biggrin:

Yeah I agree with the girl above. Go for brown tights too. A dress and brown tights would look perfectly summery!

Footless/calf length tights? A bit more summery but still cover up most of your legs.

Legs don't have to be tanned! Just wear dresses with some pretty sandals actually and it'll look fine!

Colour tights are welll in at the minute though, just wear some coloured ones?
or get some skin coloured ones? Not clear, there are ones called tan or something, so you cant actually see your legs.

I don't see what's so wrong with wearing black tights in summer?? Apart from when it's particularly warm (like.. NEVER). Besides, I bet your legs look fine! How about wearing nude coloured wedges or heels, to make them look longer?
