The course here at Reading is said to offer an engaging and enjoyable programme, which looks at the broad study of animals, both in the field and in the lab. Typically across the 3 years (or 4 with a placement year), students will have the chance to really specialise in an area which they find interesting from the selection of modules which are on offer as optional modules (more information on this is listed on the website, and subject to change each year) - however typically in part 1 you can explore mammal diversity, behaviour and conservation, biochemisty, plant diversity, in part 2 venoms and poisons, nature consercation, vertabrate and invertabrate zoology, and in your final year a much more specialist look in various fields such as palaeozoology, animal welfare and mammalian reproduction. One thing many students have mentioned to me, is that there is a very large variety of classes/modules which are available to them across the school of biological sciences at Reading.
What would you like to know more about in terms of the student life and how things work here at Reading?
I hope this provides you with a little more insight into the course, please let me know if you have any more specific questions which we can help you with!
Hiya! I’m thinking of applying to do Psychology at Reading but am not sure... I’m only predicted to get ABB and the course wants AAA/AAB.. is there a chance I’ll get an offer with my personal statement or is it 100% reject? Lol. Working hard to get up to as least AAB!
Hi im considering doing german and international relations but the problem is i haven’t wrote much about german in my personal statement because my other choices are just international relations on its on. Is this likely to be a problem?
Hi am applying to Reading Univeristy for the Consumer Behaviour Marketing course and I was wondering if I could get some details and information on the course. Thank you

Hello
Thank you for your interest in University of Reading!
Whilst we can't give you a definite answer as the entry requirements depend on a variety of factors, lots of my friends came to Reading with lower grades and still were made an offer. It's definitely worth a try, and if you can show an interest in the course and any relevant work experience in your personal statement, you might still be made an offer.
You could also get in touch with the admissions department to see if they can provide you with some more advice. Their email address is [email protected]
Hope this helps, please ask any further questions!

Hello
It's great to hear you're interested in applying to the University of Reading!
It can be tricky to write a personal statement for a course which is different to others, but as all of yours involve international relations it shouldn't be too difficult! To incorporate German, you could discuss your interest in the subject and the skills it has allowed you to develop, which will still be useful to talk about in your personal statement. This then means you are covered for the course which includes German, but will also help to enhance your personal statement with your general skills and interests which universities love to hear about!
Hope this is helpful- please contact us with any further questions!
I just got invited for a skype interview for the nutrition and food science bachelor program. Could you please tell me what the interview is like and if I should prepare myself in a certain way?

Hi!
I'm so sorry that it took us so long to reply, hopefully you haven't had your interview yet! I am in my final year of Food Science and absolutely love it, it is such a great course with really interesting content and great University links.
In terms of the interview, they are generally pretty informal and it should just be a chat with you and one of the lecturers in the department. Generally they will speak to you about why you want to do food science, specifically why at Reading, and may ask you some food science related questions. But it is nothing to worry about.
If you have any questions about the course then please just let me know!
Hi, does Reading have a gathered field admissions process, or can I expect to hear earlier than Jan?
Hi,
Apologies for the late reply! It's great to hear that you've applied to Reading – good luck!
Typically, we give offers on a continuous rolling basis as applications come through. The exact amount of time that it can take to receive a response does vary and is largely dependent on each department and their own admissions tutor.
I'm just wondering when applying I noticed that the start date for 2018 is October, this seems to be later than most universities... is there any reason why??
I'm confused whether University of Reading should be a firm choice or not? Haven't got any offers yet, I just applied a couple of days back. What is the general offer which the UoR gives for BA Hons Business and Management (with the placement year)?
Hi,I've got an offer from Reading for Biochemistry with Proffesional Experience (BBB), so hopefully I'll be there for 2019 entry!
Congratulations! It's great to hear you've received an offer from UoR. If you have any questions about the course or the university itself, please don't hesitate to ask!
