I hadn't watched Gogglebox for years but caught a glimpse of it last week or so and there was something quite interesting in it: JC's appearance on Marr's show was one of the things they were all watching, their reaction was a fairly good sample of public opinion even if that limited.

Andrew kept going on about the possibility of Corbyn as PM in a not too distant future and there was not one person in that show who didn't think he was off his rocker, wouldn't he like to know it? Those are all so-called ordinary people living away from the Westminster and metropolitan bubble, scattered around the country, a fairly wide range of ages and livelihoods, not one of them wants to even hear about Corbyn as PM.

i was surprised at such unanimity of opinion, some more than others but nobody thought it a good idea. Where do Gogglebox get their participants from, they can't all be handpicked anti-Corbynistas.

Corbyn wasn't going for a peronal climb. He was there as a political reprsentative and just did a bit of "joining in". It's a publicity thing.
