Disgraceful! He’s a nasty piece of work. However, there isn’t a lot that can be done. Even if and when he is discharged, and his lifestyle doesn’t change, the cost of his care package will be astronomical.

Being 55 stone is an illness...

and yeah, if you have terrible a terrible social service people who could be cared for at home are not going to be able to go home.

Stop blaming individuals and fund public services.

Just thinking of that level of obesity makes me feel sick. He should have gratitude, but he's probably been pandered to his whole life.

If he has been assaulting nurses then he should be released from hospital into a prison cell, not social care.

To be fair, a key reason why he can't be discharged is probably his history of violence towards care staff.

Yes this poor poor man who was forced into eating extreme amounts of food and then was forced to attack nurses really is such a shame he had to do all of this.

We tell diabetics to avoid fat and consume copiouse amounts of sugary carbs.

We don't know what we are doing when it comes to matabolism based deseases.

The only thing that makes this fatty not deserving of the same standard treatment is assualting the staff.

When he is eventually discharged, he will require care at home. That will incur further costs as an individual of his weight is going to have health issues. Community nurse etc.

Carrying that weight, he is likely to be back in hospital for the whole cycle to be repeated.
