I have been researching a lot about NCS but I'm still pretty unsure of the accommodation, the duration ( it states 3-4 weeks, so which one? -.-) and do we go home or something at end of week?
And also, is it worth going? I initially planned to revise and prepare myself for Year 12 as well as getting a job (which is kinda important because my parents are recently unemployed ;- during the Summer so I am very hesitant to spend the majority of my Summer doing this if it is a waste of time. And I also want to know, does this actually look good on your CV/UCAS statement?

I did NCS this year and I loved it. First week went to Isle of Wight and second week went to a college but, the next two weeks were out social action project and we would meet in a designated area at a certain time and then go back home. For the first two weeks though you’d arrive Monday and be taken to wherever you are going and then come back on the Friday i don’t know if this was different for anyone but this was how ours was run. I personally think it is worth doing and it does look good (you also get a certificate at the end stating you have done NCS)

NCS is good for meeting new people and having a good time by socialising and stuff. Most of the activities you do are dull for most people cause it's just team building excersies and not like the stuff they advertise, like jumping off cliffs into water etc. Trust there's no point trying to get ahead of the content in the holidays cause you'd just end up messing something up and having to go over it again anyways. Plus you'll have plenty of time to get ahead in your frees. As for NCS being good on your CV/UCAS that's bullsh*t. If you feel like you should get a job to support yourself financial then I would suggest holding NCS off till next year but it is just 3 weeks so consider it because it is a good experience.

Thanks for replying. I also want to know, how was the accommodation for you? Would it be different for other areas (as I live in the North West)?

When i did ncs i went to the isle of wight and stayed at PGL little canada. Everything was good and tbh the dorms was good. Only thing i didn't like about phase one was the food was not up to my standards. Most of my friends found it ok but its nothing special.

Sleeping was good and the toilets/bathroom was clean.

Phase 2 was amazing accomodation wise.

BTW i didn't sleep in tents during phase one, but it depends on the area u go to.
