I love history but I struggle to rember stuff any advice?

1. Have a good concise set of notes, so when it comes to revising you have a manageable amount. You might but some revision books to help you with this.
2. Timelines and mindmaps are often useful as well as key fact lists. You can memorise the latter. Aim for 10-20 key facts per small topic. Could be a date or a reason or an event.
3. There are some memory techniques here.

4. If you really understand an event, then it becomes much easier to remember and pick out the relevant points. History at A level is much more about understanding the event, than memorising facts.
5. If you don understand an event then there are plenty of good youtube videos.
6. Once you have done the above then its just a case of getting used to writing essays, which means past papers and improving your recall powers. Practice and then use mark schemes to identify where you lost marks and try again.
