If it helps ill briefly define the theory:

It states that acids are proton donors, and bases are proton acceptors. In this case the proton is a H+ ion.

QUESTION - write an equation for the reaction you might expect to take place if trichloroethanoic acid, ccl3cooh, (pKa=0.65) were added to dimethylpropanoic acid, (ch3)3ccooh (pKa=5.05). explain your answer in terms of the bronsted-lowry theory.

can anyone help??????????

thankyou

pKa = [H+][A-]/[HA]

Thus high pKa means stronger acid.

Hence you would expect dimethylpropanoic to discociate and those [H+] ions would react with the ccl3coo- ions and thush push the equilibrium towards ccl3cooh. I don't know , this might be wrong.
