RSI and Writing in Exams?

When I was in year 6 I badly hurt my ligaments/tendons on my writing hand when a football hit my thumb, it swelled up badly and luckily it wasn't broken.

But now I find that when I write alot it becomes really difficult to write and sometimes to a point where I have to put down my pen and stop. I was wondering if anybody has any tips as to what I can do to stop my performance being affected as it was in my mocks before xmas.

Also, is there anything the school could do to help? Perhaps I could type some of my exams that require lots of writing? As I can type so much faster than I write and it doesn't affect my hand as much. Writing just kills my hand...

Thanks

IS that actuallly RSI. Still, nonetheless, try and get some extra time in exams, or exam breaks. At university you'll usually be able to use a computer for exams but don't think you'd be able to do that at school

As far as I'm aware, RSI or any similar injury should be covered by the disabilty discimation act.

Stil, try and ask for extra time or breaks and be persistent.

Wow at uni you can use PC's for exams thats so ideal.

My advice is talk to your exam officer see if he/she can do anything to help out like what river85 said with timing.
Good Luck

You may be able to if yo have a disability yes. If you have handwriting probems whether through injury, dyspraxia, dyslexia or anything like that really. A regular person isn't.

If you can type faster than most people can write, then they would put you at an unfair advantage. So this needs to be tested first.

But sure at uni you'll usually have extra time or be able to use a computer it depends what gets agreed in your needs assesment.

Wait, people in 2008 weren't allowed computers for exam arrangements?
