Yes - it's a target for F1 teams. It is a good uni for Engineering; some of my best students choose it. It's course is very industry focused.

UEA doesn't have a Mechanical Engineering course. It does have a general course though.

I'd also echo Muttley's suggestion of Oxford Brookes as a good choice. They are fine with BBB for the BEng.

Don;t go by League table - why are A*A*A* students choosing it from my school? They want to work in industry or F1 - nowhere better. Go and look at the facilities. They are building a brand new resource near the Headington campus.

I echo what's been said above about Brookes, and it's similarly true with Herts (which you would also be able to attend with BBB, incidentally!) - league table rankings aren't everything when comes to engineering, it depends on the nature of the course. Some of the best engineers in industry tend to come from more practically minded unis like Brookes, Southampton, Brunel, Warwick, Coventry, Herts, et al.

From experience common sense is underrated as an engineering skill - and that doesn't get taught no matter how good the institution.
