Depression and anxiety can manifest itself into certain things, for me it was maths, i would walk into my maths class and suddenly all i could think about was killing myself; and not just in the jokey way. My mind would be filled with suicidal thoughts and it would be super hard to concentrate, making maths even harder and even worse for me.

It wasn't only maths, i had an unrequited love for a boy which depression also manifested itself into. I had fallen in love with him during my lowest times, and so when feelings towards him started to come back, so did the suicidal thoughts, and it sucked. I finally decided to block him on social media and move on with my life, and it has helped. I've also left school for college and no longer do maths which has massively improved my situation.

So after that little heart to heart, what has your depression/anxiety manifested itself into?

That's not depression. Technically, it doesn't count as 'depression' when it's caused by a certain situation. Well, it can be considered situational depression but that's it. When you are depressed, there's usually no actual reason for it.

That's not true at all, depression is almost always caused by something, whether it's family life or other issues. Any psychologist worth their mint will tell you this. I was also diagnosed with depression by a professional and put on anti depressants. I had it prior to these things, however it manifested itself in what made me feel the lowest, the same way it can manifest itself into body image causing things such as bulimia

Nope. You are wrong. And your 'professional' sucks, you should report him. And depression can't 'manifest itself into body image and cause bulimia'. Lmao.

I’m sorry, but Depression can be caused by environmental factors.

You seem to be extremely close minded, i've seen multiple of your comments before and can't say i've agreed much. Depression can manifest itself and it does, it's different for everyone.

It can be triggered by various factors but it can't be caused by them.

No, stop lying to yourself, depression can't 'manifest itself into bulimia'.

Lol, not even shrinks know that. Most believe eating disorders are caused by a mixture of factors, like low self esteem, genetics, media influence, peer pressure, competition (sports), bad parenting etc. etc.

I’ve always been a very anxious person (never officially been diagnosed with anxiety) but it often manifests into wanting to ‘control’ things, and being easily angered when I feel out of control. I would also develop obsessions over people or things, I guess to distract myself from my own mind.

I am depressed as well. I just pretend I don't have it. Not a good strategy though.

No, I agree. I was just wondering what you thought did cause EDs, didn't want to assume.
