This is probably in completely the wrong forum, but I'm not sure where else to put it. Move it if necessary.

You know someone posts a link (this one to TSR) for example:

http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/

But it actually reads as a title The Student Room-- rather than a full link. Yet when you click on the link, it still leads you to the same web page.

Well how do people do that? I see it all the time on Internet forums, and I'd really like to know how it works.

I think it's the same for other forums that use 'forum code' but for HTML you have to use:
<a href=" link "> Text </a>

you can bin the quote marks on that too, which will save you some time, like half a second or something:

[url=http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk]TSR[/url] gives

TSR

so that works fine.

also, you can use the button in the text box that looks like the globe with a chain (to the right of the text colour button) if you cant be bothered to remember the code

(if you cant understand what im trying to say lemme know and i shall screenshot it for ya)
