If you study biomedical sciences do you have to test on animals? I understand how of course it does benefit humans but I would personally prefer to not do it myself as I dont want to be personally contributing to animal cruelty?

Also, if you study biology or biochem do you have to? Ive disected hearts and kidneys but I would not be able to hurt a live animal

I study biomedical science and no.

I've had to work with samples taken from animals (e.g. tissue samples from rats) but not physically seen or done anything to an animal, dead or alive.
