Is University of Tokyo good option for IT programming related courses ?

Hello,

I will be going to Uni in a year or two, due to personal problems, was set back 2 years in my education and currently doing ICT BTEC L3. My initial plan was to hopefully get into Queens Mary and after graduating doing 1 or more years in Japan using the JET programme.

After checking online, 2 Japanese universities are quite high in the world rankings, The University of Tokyo and Kyoto University. I've been in love with the Japanese culture and wanted to experience it for myself, but not as a tourist, but as part of the society. So going to one of these would tick one of my boxes, but not sure it would be good option as going to a UK one. Are the IT related courses there with high standards ? Would me graduating there set me back if I decide to come back to the UK ?
