It is the relative molecular / formula mass:

- The sum of the relative atomic masses of the atoms shown in a compound or formula

example: Find the Mr of H2O

H = 1
1 × 2 (since there are two H atoms in H2O)
= 2

O = 16
16 × 1 (since there is only one O atom in H2O)
= 16

Mr will be the sum of two of these masses:

= 2 plus 16
= 18 g/mol
