Is it me or is every song these days computerized depthless rubbish about sex, thots, drugs and money?

Oldschool rap is so much more deep and eloquent in lyrics.

2pac - to my unborn child:

    "
Now ever since my birth, I've been cursed since I'm born to wild
In case I never get to holla at my unborn child
Many things learned in prison, blessed and still livin'
Tryin' to earn every penny that I'm gettin', and reminiscin'
To the beginnin' of my mission
When I was conceived, and came to be in this position
My momma was a Panther loud, single parent but she proud
When she witnessed baby boy rip a crowd
    "

    Lil Dicky - Pillow Talking"

I'm like girl that was great, talk about a connection
Am I alone in my praise, do you share my assessment?
She like yeah that was nice, I enjoyed myself
    Great, yeah
She like can you reach that shelf for my phone?
    I'll take care the alarm
I'm like "oh, for the morning, like to sleep?"
She like yeah, we just had sex
    What did you think?
I was just gonna **** you and leave?
No, I I hadn't thought that far ahead
But of course, can I get you a T-Shirt?
Oh, can you not tickle my hair?
    "

    2pac - young niggaz

    "
You could be a ****in' accountant, not a dope dealer
You know what I'm sayin'? (Go to school *****, go to school)
**** around and, you pimpin' out here
You could be a lawyer (really doe)
****** gotta get they priorities straight"

And all because I told them God was not a man
I love you so I’ll probably carve it in my hand
The cycle’s over, won’t restart it once again

Won’t restart it—beat cold; flow, it’s so retarded
Burning coal just to gain control, homie I got it

Young prophet, come out of pocket
Just to see the geo-engineering stop it, we are boycotting it
Went from picking cotton to be poppin on the rocketship
And now we got the magic
And we frickin Harry Potter on these jokers

And whatever you be droppin, I ain’t coppin it
Cause I’m tryna make sure that my kids will have some oxygen
When they land, you guys won’t understand
"Daddy, could we fly?", I never could but you probably can
And you guys are outta hand
Just look at what’s in your hands
Saving the world is my obligation, it’s not a plan

Auto-tune is widely used today and it will be hard to find an artist or band making music today that isn't using it, having said that I think most artists of bygone eras would have used it if they could. It isn't like 2Pac or anyone else was against using the latest technology to make their music sound better. As for the lyrics you can find artists and bands writing deep songs if you seek them out. Not every artist nowadays is singing about sex, thots, drugs, and money. You'll be able to find shallow lyrics in bygone eras.

rap isn't the only genre of music, and there is still meaningful rap, quoting a bad rap song isn't a point, I'm sure there were plenty of bad rap back then too

    *snip*
...did you just refer to rap as "music"...? You say what happened to music, and then mention rap.

    You clearly had no education.

I looked up the English translation and all I’m thinking is such small lyrics for a 7 minute song
