Will an Advance Learner Loan cover a Level 4 HNC?

I'm currently studying Access to HE in Combined Science. I already have an Advance Learner Loan to cover this and want to know if I would be able to get another one to cover a HNC Applied Biology course?

The ALL page on the Gov site states that it covers level three to six, but other than that there's not much information.

I already have BA(Hons) so can't apply for a Student Loan.

You need to ask the course provider. It depends on whether the course is classed as FE or HE. FE courses get an ALL.

Hi,

An Advanced Learner Loan will not be able to award funding for a HNC course. This is classed as a higher education course and an Advanced Learner Loan will only fund further education courses.

https://www.highernationals.com/ (from BTEC and Level 4 and 5 FE courses) are usually eligible and are titled HNC/HND by the colleges that offer them.

Edit: ignore me - they've updated them and switched the funding to HE funding :mad:

Given the response above - have you looked into studying a part time degree. Science degrees are generally exempt from the rules about funding a second degree if you study part time.
