I've been at university for a month now correct me if im wrong but rent is a weekly payment. I haven't got any emails or letters telling me to pay rent so i'm just confused and nobody at my uni is talking about rent either so it's just really strange to me. Have I missed four rent payments now?
What uni? At my uni when we confirmed our accomodation we had to choose our payment method then (termly, monthly or in one lump sum) and then set up a direct debit or similar and they e-mail us confirming payments...

I get emails from my accomodation but they're never about rent it's just activities. I thought that they send an email like "your rent is due".

Few landlords are going to request you pay weekly for these types of accom, so probably no.
You might be on a quarterly contract, which I was for halls and in private accom. You will get an email reminding you a week or two in advance of the upcoming payment due, and you will certainly be reminded after the fact that you haven't paid.
Most common sensical thing is to look over your tenancy agreement and see how often you're expected to pay rent. I suspect you're to pay termly and will be sent a demand for payment in the middle of Nov or Dec.
Edit: Broadgate is halls, so you're probably expected to pay each term and will no doubt be given a reminder before you're expected to make your first payment.
