Identifying unknown metal

0.0054g of an unknown metal X reacts with an excess of sulfuric acid to form 72cm3 of H2
the equation is 2X+3H2SO4=X2(SO4)3 +3H2
identify metal x

Thanks in advance

What have you tried so far?
It's probably prog metal if you can't tell what it is easily.

converted cm3 into dm3 to get 0.0072dm3then used molar gas volume equation , so 0.0072/24 is 0.003 mol then used mass given to find Mr then got 18 but there is no element with Mr of 18
Look at your equation.
Look at the ratios.
See what you can find :ninja:

What equation do you use because I thought you could only use molar Gas equation at room temperature and pressure

So you use molar gas equation. What I did was:

divide the 72cm^3 by 24000= 72/24000= 3x10^-3
Then you divide that by 1.5 (2x10^-3), because of the 3:2 ratio of 3H2:2X
You then use that answer (2x10^-3), and substitute into Mr=mass/mol
So you get Mr=0.054/2x10^-3=27 Cobalt

That's what I got. Hope it helps...
