I live in West Yorkshire, and there are some beautiful places, scenery and buildings, and some not so nice looking places in the cities as can be expected of any city
I live near Bradford which gets a bad reputation, but is not as bad as you think. I’m on the outskirts, so am surrounded by moors and villages rather than the city, but it’s not far to get to the bigger places (like Leeds etc) have a look at saltaire village if you want an idea of architecture, i believe it has now been made into a world heritage site but I may be wrong.
Transport is average, trains are easy to get and can get you anywhere, buses are the same, roads are busy in the city centres but there’s lots of little country roads which are nice when you fancy a drive out to see the scenery
The people are great, you get the odd rude person, but when you walk down the street or go in a supermarket you can get chatting to someone. People are friendly, and will definitely make you welcome! Like I said, some areas are better than others and like in any city centres, you just need to be careful and keep your eye out for people that might not be very pleasant
Which part of West Yorkshire are you looking to move to? I don’t know too much about certain areas but I’ve lived here all my life so know some stuff haha I also spend a lot of time in North Yorkshire if that is any interest to you? Honestly I love living here, I don’t think I’ll ever leave Yorkshire! Haha
