I get this nightmare pretty much every night. Some nights its worse than others. Its really strange but basically in the dream my jaw will suddenly cramp up and start crushing my teeth and no matter what I do to try and stop it, my jaw doesnt stop crushing my teeth. Its really painful and it lasts for ages. Sometimes my teeth get cracked and fall out. What does this mean?

In my degree I learned that dreams about crumbling teeth meant you were self-conscious about your appearance, or there was something relating to your appearance that you're not happy with. I don't know exactly how true that is, though!

I did psychology, and we did one single lecture on what was dubbed 'rubbish psychology', like the kind of thing people typically associate with psychology but it isn't really psychology as such.. actually I think it was a guest speaker who specialised in dreams, and we learned about why we dream, what certain things could mean etc. It was really quite interesting!

I don't know what it means but I will share my experience. When I was a kid our first ever house I always had a dream that zombies were knocking on our door and coming into our small house, my sister would hide in the fridge. My dad would be in the flushed down the toilet and I would hide under a table and that was it. Thinking about it now its not that scary, but as a kid I was terrified, i remember the dreams stopping once I moved house

Reocurring dreams or nightmare usually indicate that you are suffering from some sort of insecurity.

Personally I think when dreams 'mean' anything it is usually much more likely to be rather straight forward and literal. I mean, I sometimes get nightmares about my boat floating away because it is an actual literal worry I have.

Is there any chance you could be grinding your teeth in your sleep? Your dream could be a reflection of what you're actually doing (e.g. I've had an asthma attack at night on a few occasions and always dreamt about not being able to breathe before I wake up).
