hi guys,

so I'm currently picking my a-levels and I want to do history and religious studies but for my 3rd option I`m thinking a level graphic design. I currently do it for GCSE and I think I`m expected to get a 6. should I do A-level graphics? I do enjoy it and wouldn't mind a career in it but im sure if I should as if I get a 6 in GCSE would I be able to get an A at a-levels as I want all A`s a a level? im not that good at the fine arty side and only did abit of fine art for my current course but would this increase a lot more at A-level? any advice

You need to get a strategy.
A levels bridge the gap between now and your degree, so they really need to either get you onto the degree you want or if you dont know then they should create options so you can have choice.

You can also check what career you might want and what degree that might need, then work backwards to the A levels you need for that course.

Make a list of available A levels at your school.

Then highlight which ones you enjoy and or are good at.

High A level grades help get you into the best unis.

A level subjects help get you on certain courses

At the moment History and RS I suppose, but graphic design then you should either be very good at it or have a clear use for it.
As it is your subjects are an unusual mix and wont give you many additional choices imo.

Besides the above i suggest you read through these links about A level and career choice, get hold of some of the books and then play around with various combinations of A levels to id the course for you. You need to check it v your uni requirement.

Careers- Go to careers or see if you can get any of these books or they will have similar for you to read. Try and get ones aimed at your age group. Uf you cnat find then just get second hand from Amazon.
