Looking at the current political climate and rise of the extreme right and extreme left... Some would say we are in the beginning of a collapse of democracy- and a rise of a new political system is due any moment now.

Democracy is intrinsically flawed as it can be abused by many- often at the expense of others (see fake news in India or the political slander thrown about in America). Not to mention that many people vote on issues of which they have no knowledge about (Brexit) or know the implications of a certain course of action. This is currently leading to global crises such as global warming which will be catastrophic if we do not act now.

Looking at the success of non-democratic nations such as China who can plan for the long term suggests a change is needed to out-perform nations such as this and bring about better long term outcomes for the world. Communism or socialism is not the answer- see North Korea. We need a system which is wholly successful.

Perhaps it is time for democracy to alter. For our decision makers to be the most informed within our society and to restrict the ability of the uneducated everyman to vote on issues of which they know nothing about.

Thoughts below?

If there is no democracy, there will be no elections, people will be even less bothered about politics, and more countries will be like north korea

Not true at all- perhaps we should remove general elections entirely and specifically train and educate our rulers to make the best decisions for all of us...

That way we would receive the best possible outcome in society without uneducated idiots screwing us over

So basically pseudo communist system? Nope, rather not. I’ll stick with democratic elections and multi parties.

You'd think no elections means more suitable rulers, the reality is, election or no election most rulers are only in it for themselves and their closest friends and family, bet you there aren't many rulers that have similar life experiences as the typical electorate, you know, the ones that work to survive. The large majority go on fancy parties and holidays several times more than the average person can afford to, they're hardly going to empathize with Joe Public. And also how do you measure education?

The flaw with communism was it relied on one person- if we had a number of educated representatives with life experience reflecting that of the overall population- all voting on issues then we would have pseudo-democracy. Without the horrendous side effects of a pure democracy.

The balance of power must remain so that no one person can become all powerful but the ability to ruin the lives of everyone must be stripped from those who have no knowledge of implications or consequences. That being the uneducated majority.

True democracy never existed in the first place.

A vote is like a guy holding his hands out and telling you to choose a hand. Who chose your options for you?

(read my other reply above to answer the first part)

Education would be measured based on specialisation. If you were going to lead your education should be specialised to accentuate and develop leadership qualities, implications of law and the importance of caring for the population.

If your role was to lead there would be no need to learn physics or music. A specialised education would always be superior to a general one- hence university exists. I propose a specialisation from birth; so that when the time comes that you have to step into a leadership role you are the most prepared you could possible be. Leading to the best possible and most considered outcomes for the general population.

Other than restrictions of freedom, and a more controlled populace I see no problems. Perhaps it's time someone took control of our species and guided us correctly- to stop us from destroying ourselves and our planet.

We were never free, this is just a natural progression. We are not equal, we never have been- otherwise why are some born more beautiful or more intelligent than others. Equality is a noble lie, but it is a lie.

Strip us of our freedoms and take control of us- fix us and save our planet.

I understand more than you think, but you have to be aware of the problems with what you're suggesting. You can't control this sort of path, and at one point probably every facist/totalitarian/authoritarian leader has probably had the same ideas.

I'd rather have the destruction of the planet and ourselves. But it probably won't ever get to that point
