What does Islam REALLY say about homosexuality?

Islam means peace and you've been taught to respect everyone for who they are. Allah is so loving.
So why is it wrong to love the same sex? If Allah has created you to be attracted to the same sex-why would Allah then punish you for the way he created you? If that makes sense. Are we just meant to deny our feelings for the same sex and hide our sexuality?

Just curious

So why is it wrong to love the same sex? is it wrong to feel an attraction to the same sex? not specifically the crime is the actions committed
If Allah has created you to be attracted to the same sex-why would Allah then punish you for the way he created you? Allah doesn't punish someone for being attracted to the same sex, the actions is the crime not the feelings
If that makes sense. Are we just meant to deny our feelings for the same sex and hide our sexuality? yes
(instead of saying a load of mumbo jumbo like above comment)

it's ok if you feel attracted to same sex , there's no quarrels with me i just dont choose to follow it

lol try explaining this to other muslims or your family.... its forbidden in Islam.

The Muslim holy book, the Koran, tells the story of Lot and the destruction of Sodom - and sodomy in Arabic is known as "liwat," based on Lot's name.

Men having sex with each other should be punished, the Koran says, but it doesn't say how - and it adds that they should be left alone if they repent.

The death penalty instead comes from the Hadith, or accounts of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad. The accounts differ on the method of killing, and some accounts give lesser penalties in some circumstances.

So NO its not allowed in Islam.

Islam means peace

Islam means submission to the will of Allah.

Which entirely fails to answer the question

It does explain that the word for homosexuality in Arabic derives from the name of a married man with two daughters.
God created you, tells you homosexuality is a no go, you listen, he’s given you life, respect that and be grateful for it instead of arguing why you can’t knock up the same sex.

No, it doesn't.

Erm yes it does!
It's very simple - you won't be perceived as a sinner if you have a natural attraction to the same sex. However, acting upon this urge/temptation (sodomy in this case), is a sin.
And please don't talk about "the disgusting nature", this refers to everyone without substantial knowledge, of Shariah (Islamic law) so freely.

No. It means submission:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam#Etymology_and_meaning
In a religious context it means "voluntary submission to God".[44][45] Islām is the verbal noun of Form IV of the root, and means "submission" or "surrender".

Care to explain why you think that it means peace? I'm going to guess that you were told that, and accepted it without question. Do you now see how easy it is to indoctrinate those that don't require evidence?

Actually, the Quran teached hatred of non-Muslims. We're the lowest of all beasts, according to its vile pronouncements.

It's a man-made rule. If you believe in Allah, then, Islam says, that it's because your intelligence is too low to understand why he does things.
Nothing positive. But more lgbt Muslims are coming out and being open, so maybe the Islamic view will change eventually.
The only people who should care about what Allah says about anything, are Muslims.
