Difference between Typical Offer & Minimum Entry Requirements?

Hi,
I read somewhere that apparently typical offers and minimum entry requirements are different, for example if a university stated a typical offer was AAA it doesn’t mean you couldn’t get in with AAB, whereas if a minimum entry requirement was AAA you needed to get that, there was no room for change. I just wondered if this was true? Thanks

Some universities have a "contextual offer" which is a grade or two below the typical offer. It is available if you have contextual circumstances, eg your school is below average.
