I have no idea how to draw an NMR spectrum based off of chemical shift values, and I'd really appreciate any help that could be offered 😅

The question states that I may assume:

"All protons attached directly to a benzene ring have a chemical shift of 7.4. All protons on alkyl carbons attached directly to a benzene ring have a chemical shift of 2.5. All protons on alkyl carbons not attached directly to a benzene ring have a chemical shift of 1.1."

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.

I can try my best to give you a hand of the chemical shift values when I come back from school.

Do you have the proton NMR only or the Carbon-13 NMR, or both?

Just the proton NMR

Just the proton NMR
I can try my best to answer it now for both compounds.

This is my best attempt of them: https://imgur.com/a/VFyka3m

I wouldn't say this is correct in any way, and I'm not sure why it would ask you to draw it.

Wow, thank you so much!

It is very strange. I've never been asked to do anything other than interpret before. I assumed that it was on the A2 spec and we just hadn't covered it yet.

The second NMR I am less sure about (the dimethyl). I would just double check with a teacher just incase. I haven't covered relative heights because that stuff is too confusing.
