Well, if your combination of subjects wasn't available, then I guess you've not got anything to be angry about really.

It's only a college! Quit the worrying. Why is the act of worrying about this sort of thing becoming a younger and younger thing?!
hey.. it happens. just go to a different college
I know this is a dead thread, but I was wondering if you're still on the list? I hear they're in the process of another intake. What subjects did you apply for?

Yeah, if you stayed on the list I hear you had a pretty good chance of getting in.
Oh no! You're not gonna have to go to another college. Good luck...
Yh dat day i was pissed...but im over it!...going to sum other college...yh im on de waiting list but i dont think anything will come of it im doing the sciences, maths and history...so its a hard combo to get-maybe

That happened to me for Haberdasher Askes Hatcham College my combo didn't go and my mocks weren't the best grades lol..Oh wells life moves on... I'm going back to my schools Sixth Form in Sept to study 4 A Levels then I'm studying a 5th one outside and I'll do that external candidate thing.

Don't worry..At least you got into another 6th form even if it weren't your preferred one.

Oh yeah this is Woodhouse College in North London right..it says on their website

If you are still interested in applying to the College for admission in September 2008 you should come to the College on August 22nd 2008, bringing your GCSE results with you.

So if you get better GCSE's than predicted maybe you could try that lol or not?

What's so special about Woodhouse ?
im wondering that too
I got rejected from my top 2 choices for 6th form, however I've just had the induction at a place I only applied to in May & I can't wait to start in September.

I don't get whats so special about Woodhouse either, I went to visit because I'd heard all these good things about it & Principal was going on about the "outstanding" rating Ofsted gave it. It certainly didn't live up to my expectations, though I've no idea how it compares with the 6th form alternatives in the area.
oh i applied with 7A*s and 5As...dont know if ill bother in august..it would be disruptive to change after ive already got used to the other college

Hey your lucky your on the waiting list!
I applied late..My own fault..But I had no idea Woodhouse existed until after the deadline date...I applied and would call up every so often...

But when I finally got rejected it was like a huge Slap in the Face..
I really wanted to go there..I had the grades and an AS in Maths,

But apparently they had too many applicants this year! So i'm off to CNI..

Thats right Sifr, there were a record number of applicants for the places this year.

Edit: I've no idea where the 5,000 came from, sorry. They were heavily oversubscribed though.

OMG! I had no idea..No wonder they didnt accept me.
My friend had a similar problem with Seven Kings, shes a straight A* student
But they got 1500 applicants this year and were refusing external students.
(They kept it to a real minimum)

I went for my induction day at CNI today..I felt miserable the whole time, kept wishing it was Woodhouse...
But hey maybe it wont be that bad..I just thought Woodhouse would keep me more focused and encourage me to do even better..!
I'm going to work my ass OFF..Well I'll try.

Anyway goodluck with your application and I hope that you get in.

whoops I mistaked you for Emerald Green :p:
I got into Woodhouse but I'm going to go to Fortismere instead, I seriously felt Woodhouse was too pressured and it just seemed very socially diverse. I heard that they accept quite academic students however the teaching is really not very good and they will kick you out if you dont perform. Where are you going instead?

Also its possible you will still get in. I had my fortismere induction yesterday and a lot of people had accepted their places at woodhouse even though they were planning on staying at fortismere (kind of selfish I know). So a lot of people will just go to the induction for the sake of getting a better idea as to what its like and then they will probably refuse their place so I imagine it wont be hard to get off that waiting list and into woodhouse. Good luck!
Are any of you guys at Woodhouse now?
