Great Gatsby essay help!!!

the title is 'Explore the ways in which F. Scott Fitzgerald's accounts of the two parties in chapters 2 and 3 show to best and worst of 1920s America'. We were given these points as a guide:
-Tom and Myrtle's party: the setting, behaviour of guests, how nick reacts and how Tom is presented
-Gatsby's party: preparations, compare to Tom, what G does well and badly, how N reacts, troubling details
-how does Fitzgerald use both parties to present a society out of control

The problem is that I don't know what other things to talk about other than the American Dream but I don't know how to relate that to the essay. Can someone give some ideas please?
