I take a level physics and chemistry (and philosophy and ethics) but I’m the only girl in physics and chemistry, when I first started I thought of dropping the subjects because there’s no one I’m ‘good’ friends with in there and I’m on my own. All 4 of my chemistry and physics teachers favour me because I’m the only girl and they always give me extra help, is this because they think I’m unable to get a good grade ??!
Anyone else the only girl ? Any advice ?

They definitely dont offer you extra help because you are unable to get a good grade but maybe they help you more seeing you are the only girl and feel that way?

If you reply normally I won't get a notif, but you should be happy about the extra attention! It shows they care equally as well and want you to do well and there is your chance to ask any questions you don't understand. Genuinely you should be happy about it more than upset?

I know I am happy that they care it’s just annoying being the only girl and they give me extra attention and other people in my class so I get favoured and how my teachers ignor them and only care about me. It’s as if people in my class are shocked a girl does physics and I’m actually half decent at it

Okay so I did physics at A level , Im ngl it was the worst subject I did and found it the hardest , also there was one girl in my class too and around 8 boys so I wouldn't about the fact that you are the only girl!.

Yeah but what I’m saying is I’m the only girl in my school that does a level physics. I’m in year 12 and there’s also no girls in year 13 doing physics.

Thank you 😊 it’s just difficult being in that situation at that moment in time when all the boys are joking around together and I’m just there alone. But I wouldn’t quit for a stupid reason.

I'm the only girl for two of my subjects too. Don't let the fact you are the only girl make you drop out. You must have picked them because you enjoy them, therefore you should do well and changing won't benefit you. Stick with what you enjoy. Yes, it's intimidating at first but some of the guys will be really nice. :yep:
