Hi. I am a current year 12 student, having completed my GCSEs last summer; I achieved all grade 9s, having studied (as well as the required subjects) French, Spanish, History and Triple Science. However, since moving into A-Levels, I have found myself feeling anxious and paranoid about the subjects I have chosen to study, against the choices made by others. I am studying French, Spanish and History, but my apparent talent for the sciences (I was in the top 10 students nationally for Physics results) and the fact that everybody else seems to take them had left me feeling that these subjects (in my head, 'harder' or 'cleverer ' ones) are those that I should have studied. I have also felt like my talents for study mean that I should be studying 4 subjects to stretch me further.

I am writing this therefore to ask if anyone else here is in the same situation, or struggles with the same feelings as a consequence of being top of the class.

Good position to be in. I have a feeling you might have been happier studying the International Baccalaureate which lest you remain a generalist.

The point of your A levels is to bridge the gap between GCSE and Uni.

Better grades get you into better unis.
Subjects get you onto particular courses.

Have you worked out what course or which career you want? If your A levels get you into uni of choice and course of choice I wouldnt worry.
In the event you did the wring A levels , then some unis have foundation courses, which adds an extra year, but lets you bypass not having the correct subjects.

Talk to your teachers if you need to change.

You can also look at these articles to see what courses might be open and how A level choices help create choice for potential courses.
because you seem exceptional, then they may still let you change and do a fourth if you decide to and maybe get your parents involved.
