So back in September I started a course and it took a while for my learning/disability support to come in.
So I start a peer mentoring thing tomorrow and it will be around 32-35 hours per year. What I’ve been told is that they will help me stay on track with work and give me advice on stuff. But my first (and possibly future) sessions will last an hour each. I can understand the first session or maybe even the first few taking an hour, but what would happen in the others to take that long?
In my old high school, peer mentors were simply 6th year students who help new students for the first month of school. While google simply told me it’s either to help stay on track or go as far as checking on mental health stuff like my feelings and worries. Obviously college is different but I don’t know what happens.
Does anyone know what happens during these 1 on 1 sessions? Sorry if this is stupid. Im just nervous
