just wondering....I've only ever heard good stuff.

Oh, **** yes.
I can't believe there's so much work that you're not allowed to get a job! Scary!
No uni would be 100% perfect. Of course there will be faults, it's a given.

..what? :s-smilie:

That would be because there is no sarcasm. There are indeed negatives to studying here. Stress, for example.

Perhaps you should ask for examples.

Tons and tons. :s-smilie: :frown:

for example the stress will cause you to misspell the simplest of words

Do you have sarcasm over there? Because this wasn't it. There's tons that's bad about studying at Cambridge.

Stress. Long holidays away from friends, full of work. More work than most unis, in less time. Frequent feelings of academic inadequacy. Lots of pressure in supervisions. Constantly having to choose between having a social life and getting your work done. And so on. And that's just the work. Think of all the stereotypes - colleges full of spoilt brats, traditionalism, poor social environment, and so on - it's not true to any significant extent, but it's more true at Cambridge than at most unis.

Some people (e.g. me) work better in a pressurised environment; if there's nothing pushing me, I just won't do any work. But it's ****ing hard work. Most people wouldn't survive under the pressure; there's occasionally a couple of suicides a year during exam term.

I love Cambridge, wouldn't swap it for any other uni. But it's not for everyone.

meaning this guy. sorry I haven't figured out a lot of the stuff on here yet:smile:
Not living in a big city would put me off if I were someone who was in the position to go to Cambridge.

That wasn't sarcasm either. You're not allowed to work during term.

Yeah! If you don't get a First in your prelims, they line you all up naked and squirt cold water over you!!!

...Just kidding. One bad thing is that the terms are only 8 weeks;but then lots of people would see that as a good thing. But it means more time at home and away from your friends. Less "being independent."

really? why not?

and I apologise
