Ive seen in jobs that they go on about recruiters earning a shitload, is that true? why so much
why is it most HR/recruiters are females if not all?
It’s a combination of salary and commission based work. For example, base salaries may only be £20k-22k in London with a potential OTE of £27k-£32k within the first year!
So it basically depends on how many people you are able to successfully recruit.

thats ludicrous
how does it pay so much wtf? Why aren't there more recruiters then? does it even require a degree?

recruiting is like any consulting or sales-based job. The best earn a hell of a lot... most don't.
As the other poster said, incomes will be half base salary, and half performance based bonuses/extra income. So say, in your first year you received a base of 25k, but you successfully recruited a very high number of candidates to difficult roles, you would probably earn a very nice amount of money for that year. If in year 2 though, you struggled and for what ever reason you couldn't match the same numbers that you did in your first year, your income decreases.
Think of it just like selling (which is basically what it is.. its just two-way selling. Your selling a job to the applicant, and an applicant to the recruiter at the same time). If you can sell a lot, you can earn a lot.. if you can't sell a lot, you can't earn a lot. Some people are naturally very good at selling - others are not.
Most people won't earn that much from recruiting jobs - they will just end up on middle incomes, somewhere a little above the base. But those who are talented and great at selling, the top 10% or so, sure they can earn a lot.

Only the best of the best will, in actual take home terms - those who recruit to senjor positions or managers. It’s all commission based. The base salary is low but the industry is cut throat.
