This is a fairly short poem I wrote when I couldn't think of anything to write. It's a first draft, inspired by the Beat generation (Hunter S. Thompson, Allen Ginsburg, that side of writing). I'd appreciate any and all feedback, good or bad. Thanks!

I remember bluetooth sharing songs ripped
from lime wire on a school playground.

I remember schoolbus politics;
year 7s at the front, year 11s at the back.

I remember my first dream. I remember my second dream.
They both involved space.

I remember the first time I shoplifted.
Skullcandy headphones, the in-ear ones with the rasta paint.

I remember when the towers fell.

I remember smoking messy spliffs on dark park benches,
listening to Evanescence and Limp Bizket.

I remember listening to Eminem and wanting to be him one day.
What a ****.

I remember the first time I had a Nandos. I was 17. It was my birthday.
My parents had just divorced. They tried not to make it awkward. It was. It was the last one my mum came to.

I remember my first girlfriend. I was 18.
Sometimes I wonder if she remembers me. I wonder if she thinks "Right people, wrong time", like I do.

I remember potatoes with smiley faces.
Sometimes I still make them.
