Do you get study leave?

Are you getting study leave, and do you know when and for how long? My school is still ****ing about with the study leave. They mentioned a couple of months ago that they were considering allowing it and there hasn't been a mention of it since - which leaves me thinking the answer is no :frown:.

How many secondary schools do offer it these days? I was informed by someone that there was an attempt to ban it.

Our school used to have it for 4th, 5th and 6th year then tried to ban it for a while but failed miserably because almost everyone either just stayed off anyway or came in and registered in the mornings if they were one of the few whose parents wanted them to come in and then left after registration which they got away with because as a result of the pathetically small classes the teachers stopped bothering to take registers. Top notch organisational skills there :p: .

As a result they have given up with that idea and 4th to 6th year all get study leave again. As long as your parents agree that it is worthwhile to get study leave just get them to write a note saying you will be off as you are studying from home and there really is nothing the school can do.

Hmm, our school still does it for Years 11, 12 and 13, with Year 10 getting study leave when they don't have exams (during their exam week) and even Year 9 getting a day's study leave for SATs this year. Weird!

Nope, just a week for half term. Im glad of it to be honest considering the fact that we have only just started learning A2 work in one of my subjects (due to a crap teacher). :s-smilie:

Mine starts on 23rd May but we are meant to come in as usual for revision lessons until our exam for that subject is over. So really I still have to go in until 16th June.
