Shared house

My housemate has suddenly decided she wants to move out.of our house. She has contacted the landlord and has told.me she is finding a replacement. Problem is i am not comfortable sharing a house with a stranger. I got a shared house to share facilities with a friend whom id known a whole year.. not a stranger. Any advice on this issue would be appreciated. Thankyou
