Stuck on binary numbers

Question: perform the logical AND function on the two binary numbers below.
10101011
11110111

It says the answer is 10100011, can someone please explain how the answer is 10100011 as i don't understand what they mean by performing logical AND function on these two binary number above.

A digit in the result will only be 1 if the corresponding digits in BOTH the inputs is 1.
sorry I don't understand, could you elaborate on how that links to the answer

imagine an AND gate - the output will only be 1 if both inputs are 1. otherwise, the output will be 0. think of the two numbers you're putting into the operation as the inputs and you're trying to find the output
