I watch porn. I hate it. My addiction is flared up by stress. I have become so addicted that I feel unable to stop myself despite trying so hard. It is running my life. Please help. I will post here every single day in order to stop my PMO addiction. Feel free to join in. And please, if I miss a day, for any reason, message me about it. I hope this disgusting, destructive and stupid habit can be overcome. Peace.

It can definitely be overcome but needs to be done in a piecemeal fashion - rome wasn't build in a day.

It's good that you have identified that it is linked to stress.

1. Plan and keep a journal.
2. It won't change over night. You will slip up forgiving yourself and keeping an eye on the overall trend is important. A pattern of continual reduction is what success looks like.
3. Replace the stimuli with something you find less harmful, working towards removing external stimuli altogether.
4. Try to identify when you take part in this activity. Try to plan your day and release as to avoid such temptation.
5. Stay busy with other projects and avoid being on your own. Also work on your stress levels and engaging in positive forms of stress release (exercise).
6. There are lots of sites on the internet which may help. I'd be critical of any that want your money or faith or which provide facts without academic sources.
7. There is also software that can help either block material or help you with accountability. I'd research these carefully as there will also be scams.
8. You could also look in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
9. You can talk to your doctor and in some cases they may be able to refer you to a therapist.
10. Try not to let negative experiences with pornography harm your self worth or project a negative shadow on your sexuality.

Porn and masturbation are a completely healthy way of dealing with stress. There are a myriad worse things you could be doing.

No support.

porn and m doesnt deal with stress its just a bs escapism. dealing be something like taking action to reduce it like timetable to manage work load and hit the gym to burn off the stress chemicals or whayever. not running from problems and jerking off to hardcore pornography

can relate but its a 3.5 journey lmao. ppl said porn wasnt addictive turns out it was and getting over it has been more difficult to get my degree.
my advice that u gotta get drastic otherwise you wont get over it. move towards making it imposible to access it. switching from smartphone to dumb phone. selling laptop and using a pc maybe one at libary or one in family house.
