Both poems share the same effects of power of nature more specifically how it can easily overcome man and their creations. Heaney describes how people of the island “are prepared” and have “used good slate”- efficiently demonstrating their confidence towards the coming battle between them and nature to come. The king in Ozymandias similarly expresses how prepared he is through his arrogance, “ye Mighty and despair”. Through dramatic irony Shelly is narrating how oblivious the king is to the power of nature due to him expecting his “works” to still remain after hundreds of millennia.

I’m not the most qualified as I’m only another student but it seems good so far. I don’t remember these poems very well so take my feedback with a pinch of salt, but I would recommend as a tip to keep asking yourself “how” and “why” the poet does certain things. You could get this across by talking about effect on the reader?

Also I’d suggest talking about structure in either this paragraph or a different one as that’s a very important aspect that a lot of people seem to miss

Hope that’s helpful

I’m not sure what the question you’re answering is and I’m sure you’re doing fine, but just in case make sure you link back to it so that it’s clear you understand what you’re being asked

Thanks for the help
The question was:
Compare the ways poets present ideas about power in Ozymandias and in one other poem from ‘Power and conflict’.
